BaroMedia. From your first video to export.

Choose Free for playback or Pro for trimming, comparison, and advanced export.

1. Open Downloads on baro.ee and choose the BaroMedia Free or Pro installer for Windows x64.
2. Run the downloaded MSI and complete installation. Then open BaroMedia from the Windows Start menu.
3. Free can open a video immediately. The first Pro launch requires sign-in and license activation.

This guide describes the published version 1.13.33. Settings and appearance may change in later builds.

The 1.13.33 installers do not have a publisher signature, so Windows may show a warning. Download from the official page and compare the published SHA-256.

Shortcuts in this guide use the BaroMedia Default preset. Press H in the app to see your current assignments.

Choose one file, drop it into the window, or reveal it in File Explorer.

1. Press Ctrl + O, choose a video file, and open it. You can also drag a video from File Explorer into BaroMedia.
2. Use Ctrl + ← or Ctrl + → to move to the previous or next video in the same folder.
3. Press Ctrl + ` to open the current video's location and select it in File Explorer.

Ctrl + O selects a file. This version does not offer a separate folder-import command or guaranteed folder drag-and-drop support.

Ctrl + ` uses the physical key below Esc on a standard English keyboard. On a Russian layout, use that same physical key.

Restore hidden controls and choose the window mode you need.

1. Move the mouse over the window or pause the video to reveal controls. F9 changes how the panels appear.
2. Press J or use the settings button to open preferences. H lists commands and your current shortcuts.
3. Press F11 for true fullscreen and Esc to leave it. F10 maximizes the window within the Windows work area.
4. If the entire interface disappears, press F8: it hides and restores the controls.

Pause, seek, and adjust volume from the keyboard or bottom controls.

1. Press Space to pause or resume. When the file has ended, Space starts it again.
2. Press ← or → to move by 10 seconds. To jump elsewhere, click the timeline or drag its position handle and release the mouse.
3. ↑ and ↓ change volume by 5. Num + / Num − increase and decrease playback speed.
4. Before moving between files, choose their order: F2 for name, F3 for modification date, F4 for type, or F5 for the open File Explorer folder's order.

Loop the entire video

The default order is modification date, newest first. For F5, keep the matching folder open in File Explorer; the app falls back to date order if it cannot obtain that view.

L repeats the entire file. A and B points do not create a separate playback loop.

Pause playback, adjust the position, and enlarge an area of interest.

1. Pause the video and move the timeline close to the moment you want.
2. Press Num 4 for a small step back or Num 6 for a step forward. These commands also pause a playing video.
3. Scroll the mouse wheel over the video to zoom toward the pointer. While zoomed in, hold the middle mouse button to move the visible area.
4. Use Ctrl + R to restore the original view, or return zoom to 100%.

In version 1.13.33, each step is approximately 40 ms. This is approximate navigation, not a guarantee of exactly one source frame at every frame rate.

Zoom changes the view and does not modify the video file.

Check the current file's format, size, duration, and available technical properties.

1. Open a video and press I to show current file information.
2. Wait for the details to load. Check resolution, frame rate, codec, and detected tracks when available.
3. Close the panel when finished and continue watching.

Some containers do not provide every property. FFprobe is needed for extended details; basic information remains available without it.

The command palette searches Russian and English action names.

1. Press Ctrl + P and type an action name, such as screenshot, markers, subtitles, or diagnostics.
2. Select a result with ↑ / ↓ and press Enter.
3. Read its current shortcut beside the command. To change it, press Ctrl + Enter on the selected action.

An unavailable command explains why: for example, a video must be open or Pro is required. Opening the palette does not itself pause playback.

These are three different commands: a file to paste, a text address, and an image on the clipboard.

1. To copy the video itself, open it and press Ctrl + C. Then paste with Ctrl + V into File Explorer or an application that accepts files.
2. For the video's path as text, press Ctrl + Alt + C and paste it into a text field.
3. For an image of the current moment, pause the video and press Ctrl + Shift + C. Paste the image into an editor or another application that accepts pictures.
4. For frame copying, you can first choose J → Frame copy: original resolution or the current window view.

Copying a frame creates no file on disk and requires FFmpeg. Ctrl + C copies the video file, not a frame.

You can also drag the current file using the six dots in the top bar. This passes the file for copying; it does not trim or export a new video.

S saves one frame; advanced Pro export adds image sequences and contact sheets.

1. Move to the moment you want and press S. The default is JPEG, and the output folder opens afterward.
2. To change the format, open J → Quick screenshot and choose JPEG, PNG, or WebP, plus timecode and frame number in the filename.
3. In Pro, press Ctrl + S for advanced export: choose the current frame, an interval, a specific frame count, or a contact sheet.
4. In advanced export, choose a folder, filename template, and format. Check the planned file count and press Export.

Screenshots and frame export require FFmpeg. If no folder is configured, the app uses a Frames subfolder beside the video.

Quick screenshots share their folder and filename template with advanced export. The quick screenshot format is configured separately.

For an image that includes the current window view, use Ctrl + Shift + C with the corresponding frame copy setting.

Select a range on the timeline before saving it as a separate file.

1. Open a video and move to the start of your clip. Press Shift + A.
2. Move to the end of the clip and press Shift + B.
3. Check the highlighted range and the line showing A, B, and duration. Drag the A and B handles on the timeline to refine them.
4. Use Go to A and Go to B to inspect the boundaries. ×A, ×B, and Reset clear one or both points.

The clip must be longer than 0.1 seconds. If B is earlier than A, the app swaps the points.

A/B points do not loop the selection. L loops the whole video; Ctrl + D opens a different feature that compares two files.

Choose a fast export without re-encoding or more precise boundaries with re-encoding.

1. After setting A and B, press Ctrl + Shift + S or use Export on the range panel.
2. Choose a name and folder for the new file, then select MP4 or MKV.
3. Choose Fast to copy without re-encoding, or Precise to re-encode as H.264/AAC with more accurate boundaries.
4. For a size limit, enable fitting to a selected size and enter the target in MB. Check the message and press Save clip.
5. For subsequent quick saves, use Shift + S. The app creates a new filename using the last folder, container, clipping mode, and size limit.

Fast-mode boundaries depend on keyframes. If the start or end is not what you expected, try Precise mode.

In 1.13.33, Shift + S also applies the saved size limit. An output that exceeds the limit is not saved as a completed export.

The default output is a Clips folder beside the source. The open source video is never overwritten; replacing another existing file requires confirmation.

The completion notification shows the actual file size. Before a fast export, the size is approximate; a re-encoded size is not known in advance. Saving requires FFmpeg; a size limit requires re-encoding and can reduce image quality.

Markers are time bookmarks that leave the video unchanged.

1. Move to a moment and press M for a quick marker without a note.
2. For a note, press Shift + M, enter up to 240 characters, and press Enter or Save. Esc cancels editing.
3. Open the list with Ctrl + M. Click a timecode to jump there; use the copy, edit, and delete buttons beside each entry.
4. At the bottom of the panel, choose Copy list, Export TXT, or Export CSV. In Pro, an entry's A and B buttons can assign it as a clip boundary.

Each video supports up to 500 markers. They are saved locally between launches and do not trim the file by themselves.

Inspect versions side by side, as an overlay, or through a movable wipe.

1. Open the first video; it becomes A. Press Ctrl + D and select a different video for B.
2. In the comparison panel, choose Side by side, Overlay, Vertical wipe, or Horizontal wipe.
3. For an overlay, adjust B's opacity. For a wipe, move the divider or its slider.
4. Use Other B to choose another version. Use A ↔ B or Ctrl + Shift + D to swap the files.
5. Press × on the panel to end comparison. The — button and repeated Ctrl + D only hide or restore its panel while comparison remains active.

Comparison needs two different files. Shift + A and Shift + B are for trimming one video and do not open a second file.

Control both files from A and adjust B's offset when the versions start differently.

1. Open comparison and pause on a recognizable moment, such as the start of a movement or a scene change.
2. Enter a correction in milliseconds in B offset and press Enter, or use the panel's ±10 ms or frame-offset buttons.
3. Resume playback and check that events line up. To restore the original alignment, enter 0 in the B offset field and press Enter.
4. When inspecting detail, choose a shared or separate camera with the Shared camera button.

Comparison plays audio from A; B is muted. Play, pause, and speed are controlled together.

For files of different durations, comparison maps relative progress, so equal timecodes do not always describe the same position. This does not guarantee an exact frame lock.

A manual offset can align versions with different starting points. It cannot correct different edits or speed changes within the files themselves.

Choose another language or audio version when it is included in the file.

1. Open the video and wait for its tracks to be detected.
2. Press F6 for the next audio track or Shift + F6 for the previous one.
3. To choose by name, open AUDIO in the bottom controls. You can also find the track-list command with Ctrl + P.

You can only switch between tracks included in the file. AUDIO appears when tracks are available; your choice is remembered for this video.

Use an external SRT or an available embedded text track.

1. Open a video, then open the subtitle panel using its bottom button or Ctrl + P → Open subtitle panel.
2. For an external file, select Open SRT. A matching file beside the video, such as movie.srt or movie.en.srt, may load automatically.
3. Choose an available track. V toggles subtitles and Shift + V selects the next track.
4. If text appears too late, press Alt + ←; if too early, press Alt + →. Each step changes the delay by 100 ms. The panel's 0 button resets the correction.

External SRT files do not require FFmpeg. Embedded text subtitles require FFmpeg and FFprobe; image-based PGS/DVB tracks are not supported.

Embedded text tracks are read as text: do not expect full ASS/SSA styling. Convert other external subtitle formats to SRT first.

Choose Russian or English inside the app independently of the website language.

1. Press J and find the Language section.
2. Choose English or Russian. Check the command labels with H or Ctrl + P.
3. If labels are too small, choose a suitable interface scale in the same settings window.

The website's RU/EN switch changes the website. The installed player's language is configured separately. English is the app's source and fallback language; Russian is an additional translation, and your saved language choice is preserved.

This guide lists default keys; the app shows the assignments in your own profile.

1. Open J → Key binding settings → Open.
2. Find an action and assign a shortcut. If it conflicts with another action, choose a proposed resolution before applying the change.
3. For a ready-made layout, choose BaroMedia Default, Minimal, VLC-like, or Editing. Applying a preset replaces the current layout after confirmation.
4. Check the result with H. You can save, import, or export your profile from the binding settings screen.

Editing differs substantially: I/O set A/B, comma/period move the position, S saves a clip, Ctrl + S opens clip export, and F12 saves a screenshot.

Restoring the interface and opening settings must retain a shortcut. Esc is a system command for closing a panel or leaving fullscreen.

Choose where a reopened video starts and check the available playback options.

1. Open J and choose a resume mode: automatic, ask, always start from the beginning, or do not save positions.
2. Close and reopen the same unchanged video to check the behavior.
3. If a demanding video stutters, enable preparation of optimized playback in Settings and reopen the video: the change applies the next time a file opens.

A nearly finished video or a file changed since your last viewing may start from the beginning. Saved positions can be cleared in settings.

Optimized playback is off by default. Viewing resolution is reduced to 1080p for A and 720p for B, so fine details may look different. The source and export quality stay unchanged.

Preparing an optimized version requires FFmpeg and FFprobe. The first preparation takes time and disk space; later playback uses the cached copy.

Version 1.13.33 has no separate user-facing decoder selector listing GPUs. There is no manual decoder picker to find in this window.

Free covers playback; Pro adds tools for working with videos.

1. Choose BaroMedia Free for playback, audio tracks, subtitles, standard screenshots, and markers.
2. Choose Pro for A–B trimming, two-video comparison, image sequences, or contact sheets.
3. Before buying, check current pricing and terms on Pricing. Use the same email for your purchase and license account.

Free does not require paid activation. A generation 1.x Pro license covers two personal devices and includes updates in that generation, with no mandatory subscription.

Connect the installed Pro app to the account that owns your purchase.

1. Start Pro with an internet connection. On its activation screen or under J → Account and license, choose browser sign-in.
2. In your browser, sign in to baro.ee using your purchase email and approve the application connection. If a connection code is shown, follow the Pro window's instructions.
3. If the browser does not open automatically, use the app's Copy code button and follow its instructions to open the connection page manually.
4. Return to BaroMedia and wait for confirmation that this device is activated.
5. If both slots are occupied, open your account's devices and deactivate an old computer you own, or contact support.

Website sign-in and desktop activation are related but separate steps. Having an account page open does not by itself mean this computer is activated.

Do not publish sign-in or connection codes. For purchase issues, email support@baro.ee from your account address.

Pro saves local license confirmation after successfully connecting the device.

1. Activate Pro online first and make sure the app confirms the license for this computer.
2. Open local videos normally for everyday viewing. A continuous network connection is not required after successful activation.
3. To transfer the license to another computer, reconnect to the internet and manage devices through your account.

Offline use does not replace initial Pro activation. If local license confirmation is damaged or removed, you may need to connect again.

Signing out and deactivating a device are different actions. Use deactivation specifically to release a device slot.

Check the source file, feature availability, and export requirements.

1. If a command is unavailable, open Ctrl + P and read its reason: it may need an open file, an A–B range, Pro, or another operation to finish.
2. If a video will not open, check that the file exists, has finished downloading, and can be read. Try another local video to distinguish a file issue from an app issue.
3. If a screenshot, frame, or clip cannot be saved, check FFmpeg, free disk space, and output folder access. For fast-clipping issues, try MKV or Precise mode.
4. If a shortcut does not run its expected action, press H and check your preset. Use F8 to restore a hidden interface.

Normal playback does not require FFmpeg. For export, place ffmpeg.exe beside BaroMedia.exe, in its ffmpeg subfolder, or on PATH. FFprobe adds file details and embedded-track discovery.

If only one video causes the problem, mention that in your support request and include its available properties.

Describe a reproducible scenario and review diagnostic contents before sharing them.

1. Note the BaroMedia edition and version, Windows version, action before the problem, expected result, and actual result.
2. For a specific video, inspect its properties with I. A screenshot of the error window can capture the exact message.
3. For local logs, use Ctrl + P → Open diagnostics folder. In Pro, open J → Performance → Open Stats and copy a snapshot if useful.
4. Email support@baro.ee. For upload from Pro, open J → Diagnostics and privacy → Open consent and send, review the list, and separately approve sharing in your browser.

Reading this page does not collect logs from your installed player or send them to support. Opening the local diagnostics folder does not send them either.

In-app diagnostic upload is a Pro feature and requires separate consent. Only the list is sent before approval; the diagnostic bundle itself is not uploaded. The bundle's listed contents do not include your video.

Do not attach private videos, sign-in codes, or payment details unnecessarily. You can begin with a written description.
